Come along for an United States southwest winter road trip. See lands of fire and ice, deserts rarely seen with snow, and winter wonderlands.
Pt I: Eastern Sierra & High Desert
Blown off course by a series of blizzards, we’re forced to improvise by rerouting around several mountain ranges. But it’s not too bad when it still takes you through some of the most scenic desert of the Basin and Range. Entering Owens Valley, we setup base camp in Bishop for the next week of adventures.

Pt II: Dunes and Deserts
Heading south, we spend New Years at the remote Ibex dunes of Death Valley National Park, and meet up with a friend in the precise middle of nowhere–also known as Kelso Dunes. After a week’s worth of frigid desert camping, we head to Phoenix, Arizona to warm up.
